Aid to Women has been serving women and their
families in the greater Cedar Rapids, Iowa area since 1984.
We are committed to providing women and their families
with opportunities to grow and make healthy, informed
decisions. All of our services are free and confidential.
Pregnancy Tests and Options Counseling:
ATW offers free, self-administered pregnancy tests and option counseling
with a trained peer counselor. Counselors offer information on a client’s
options and help address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in a
confidential setting. ATW also provides referrals for community resources,
professional counseling, and adoption resources.

Post-Abortion Education and Support:
At ATW, we know that Post-Abortion Stress is real and we want to help by
providing confidential support one-on-one or in a group setting. We use a
biblically-based study written specifically for post-abortion recovery.

Our philosophy for prevention of unintended pregnancies, as well as
sexually transmitted infections and heartbreak, is about eliminating the risk,
not merely reducing it. That is why we share the message of sexual
abstinence until marriage.
Concerned About Teen Sexuality (C.A.T.S.):
High school students committed to sexual abstinence before marriage
explain their reasons for remaining abstinent and encourage others to join
them in making healthy sexual choices through talks, skits, and activities.

WAIT (faith-based abstinence education):
WAIT is a four-hour program for middle school and high school students
that emphasizes God's plan and purpose for sex, while equipping teens with
survival tactics for today's sex saturated society.

Aid to Women also works with youth at area treatment facilities to
teach abstinence education and do Bible study.
Information, encouragement, and support. That is what clients receive
when they walk in the doors of Aid to Women.
Life can be challenging without a support system. Our classes help our
clients by offering ongoing support, opportunities for personal growth, and
lasting friendships.
Earn While You Learn:
This program features free one-hour classes on a variety of topics including
prenatal/parenting, life skills, job/computer skills, and Bible studies. By
attending class, clients earn help with food, clothing, diapers, and formula
on a weekly basis. After four weeks of class, clients are eligible to receive
baby equipment, as available. We also provide free childcare during class.
ATW also offers a one-time emergency assistance without the class
requirement.
